To lose step bars or not...

So my step bars look like crap. Rusty, paint falling off, etc. Just wondering if it's worth it to take them off, sand them all down and pain them with maybe some bedliner or something...

I mean I've seen some before that look like mine and when you kick them, they just crumble...mine don't seem that bad.

I'm thinking I'll take them off, and see what I get when I start sanding...and if they're too bad, I'll just junk em.

Is there an aftermarket option, incase I do lose them that are more like rock rails (used to have a Jeep, not sure if they make anything like that for Rangers).

I took mine off three years ago, and I actually like it better without the step bars on it, that and you'll have more ground clearance.

Use them for rock sliders. . . . . or take them off, paint em fast, and sell em. Use the $$$ for better parts

First thing i did to my ex was ditch them. Makes a big difference in ground clearance.
