Tk4

I use whatever Autozone sells. Usually you buy their stuff (daralast) it comes with a warrenty of some kind. When I got my clutch stuff, it all came from the JY but it was all new when pulled off the truck I got it from (I got lucky there).

No one in my town has a slave cylinder for an 84 B2

Your JY or parts store....

My tranny may be an 83 but Im running in internal slave from an 85 and its bellhousing. That took some engineering but compairing the two setups, got them to work. I dont know if any TK4 tranny's run internal slaves but if not mine works with it.

Parts store, i don't see a point on buying them from the junk yard. The cars in my junk yards are ones that are pretty beat up. From what i gather i think they are all external slaves, i would want to keep it like that so i would not have to drop the tranny if i needed to service it.

Your parts store should be able to order you the parts that you need, at least they should be able to get you the slave cylinder.

Well i am starting to gather pieces for my swap.

Few more questions:

Am i going to need to use the flywheel off of the parts truck or can i use the one thats in my truck currently?

Am i going to need to drill holes for the tranny cross member since the tk4 is a lot shorter than my a4ld?

Thanks :icon_thumby:

What is in your truck is a flex plate, the torque converter is bolted to it so yes you will need the flywheel from the other vehicle. As far as the transmission crossmember, not sure but just grab the one out of the donar vehicle an you may be all good, along with the driveshafts.
