title signed but not registered, Sell?

Im looking at a car in missouri that the title was signed when the guy bought the car but he never registered it, so is there a way to use the signed title to register it in arkansas. Also a friend has a similar situation with a truck hes trying to sell.

is there a way to sign the title over to me where i can register it or do you have to file for a duplicate title.

as long as the original owner(on front of title) only signed the back. Then you can just "fill it out" anytime and take it to the DMV for registration.

The Title I had was "out of state" and all the owner did was sign it, did NOT date it. So you just date it and fill out the rest, vola!

WARNING, on the NEW Illinois titles they have a "notice of sale" B.S. crap at the bottom separate from the main title, it's obviously for the seller to fill out and mail in.

If the seller does that, then the state WILL know the vehicle was sold to someone else besides you.

However I cannot seem to find the punishment for not filling that slip out, it states something about "liability" crap at the bottom, that by only signing it you are not released from liability, whatever that means., so I would consult a lawyer to whether I must fill it out. I think that slip is just Illinois Bull Sheeeot.

well what it is, is the guy bought the car and his wife signed her name on the back of the title, but never registered it, and now they are selling it, so the person who owned the car before them signed it over to them but they didnt do anything with it but now the buyers section of the title is filled out for the guy im buying it from

if the title is not filled out you just fill in your name..but becareful..........in my state you need to be a dealer to buy a car and sell it without registering it.........a lot of immigrants and non dealers are buying cars and just getting the seller to sign the title.then they fix it a little and selling it and making up a story about how they re selling it for a friend.....

Up here (Wisconsin) all you need is a good title. Registration means you want to put plates on it and drive on the roads. Every state seems to be different.

Try getting a bill of sale from the guy you bought it from and presenting that with the title.
