looking for 31 inch a/ts for my truck here in the next month and i'm looking at falken wild peaks, and general grabber at2's. don't want bfg's any advice?

About 4 months ago I put the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS (same thing as the Wild Peak AT) on my 99 in a 32x11.5R15. So far I have no complaints with the tires, but it isn't a DD and I haven't spent much time off road since I bought them.

Only other advice I can give is you should have posted this in the wheel & tire forum.

Curious as to why no bfg but grabber a/t are an option? I have Firestone destination a/t and love them. Good grip on street and the trail. No noise and good ride

Sent from the think n' stink.

i had bfg's and general's on my bronco and did not like the wear and weight of the bfg's and now that i have a 2.3l ranger i figured 31inch bfg's would be a little to head, also i wanted some a little quiter on the highway but will look good with the 3inch lift i am putting on the front

Understandable. Ive personally have never been a fan of bfg a/t.

yeah all my buddies have them and see to replace them every 2 years (not worth it to me). i want something with an aggressive tread that will be decent on some trails, and won't destroy my gas mileage.

what i would recommend getting duratracs they are one of the best tires i have seen around for a decent price, they go good in snow, mud, sand, gravel, and just plain old dirt. there is a thread on the wheel & tire forum that talks about them and there is nothing but good i beleive, oh and they aren't to heavy either

i like the duratracs though they are expensive (top 3 picks for me now), but when i had my mustang i had goodyears and they lasted 11k miles and i babied them

i'm leaning toward the falken's because they're good on the highway and have decent off road traction all at a decent price.

firestone destination at's
hancook dynapro at's

I've had both and would buy either again for a dd/ww rig that I don't want mt's on.
the destinations will surprise you... they are no mud tire for sure, but they are nice.

My mom had Falken tires on her Focus. They didnt last long at all. I dont know if all Falkens are like that but I dont see myself buying any of their tires anytime soon

Two years? Holy crap. I had mine on my Explorer for 6 years and 55,000 miles. They still had plenty of tread when I sold it too. By far the best tires I ever owned.

I have Nexen Roadian A/T's on my F150, and I love them. They are quiet going down the road. I haven't been off road much with them, but they have done very well in the mud and crap I've taken it through.
