A lot of people like BFG All Terrains. I had a set several years ago, pretty good. I now have a set of BFG Mud Terrain KM1s, I treat them like ATs (I DD them through all conditions, including the awesome ice we get around here in the winter).
Some other notables:
General Grabber AT2s, never had them but they look ok.
Tread Wright, several people on TRS have tried them and swear by them: http://www.treadwright.com/p-60-265-75-r16-warden-a-t-d.aspx
Goodyear DuraTracs, nice aggressive AT
i have the bfg ko's and they seem to last. even with camber issues the hard compound really lasts. had mine on for about a year and they still look like the day i bought them.
I have the BFG All-Terrain T/a's in a P235/75/R15 on the wifes 88 BII. They have done really good so far even in deep mud. They are quiet on the road and handle really well also.
Runway Enduro A/T. I've only seen 'em as a 31", though. They are better in the mud and dirt than a Grabber AT2 or BFG A/T, but are a lot louder on the road and don't stick to the pavement as well as the other two. Good middle ground tire for cheap, $120 a tire. Got 6k miles on mine, look brand new.
i've really liked my firestone a/t's.. same i'm weird if you want, but they are swesome on road, and do well off road. now it is just an a/t.. so don't expect to much. i don't do A LOT of mud, mostly trails and slight rocks.. so..
Wild country radial xtx sports. I run 285/70 17 on my F-150. There good in the snow and clean out well in the mud. Air them down and go where ever you want. Low sound and good ware. I will buy them again. I had BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A before and didnt like them. In my opion the BFGoodrich A.T are shit.
