I was wondering what everyones opinions are on brands and tires that people like. The reason, my friend got 33" Nitto Terra-Grapplers on his 07' F-150 4X4 and he seems to have nothing but problems with them first one he toasted on the trail a strong stick went through the sidewall really close to the tread. He got that one patched and today he was driving through a wash and when he got back onto the pavement on the way back to his house the bolt(not screw) that had been in another tire came out and left a leaky hole in it. The irony of the situation I have had my tires longer than he has but never had a problem other than when I got hit directly on the tire in a parking lot but I think things on the front of a car are a little sharp or strong although it was a Honda:icon_confused:

vote,
other - what you think?

when i can afford it i run bfg's on all my vehicles. we bought a set of a/ts for our bronco when they first came out with them and i havent found a better all around tire since. as soon as i get some money and i finish my truck im gonna put a set on the 150 as well. my second choice would be the goodyear workhorse. i had them on my old dodge and they are on the 250 i just bought. not bad tires but they do hum a little more than the bfgs going down the road.

You will always hear tons of good things about BFGs, but they're good tires. I had Pro Comps on one truck, and heard they have really thin sidewalls, but not much besides that. The only thing I know about Nittos is they are pricey $$$.

Nittos...I don't mind running them on street cars, but from what I hear, they're not really built for offroading. They wear out real fast compared to the BFG's and they're often smaller in diameter than other brands in the same nominal size. I had my F-150 parked next to another one just like it but with Nitto Terra Grapplers...I still had 265/70R17 but he had 285/70R17 - you could hardly tell the difference. About a week later I got my 285/70 A/T KO's on and the change was very obvious.

i got the bfg a/t's on my 99'. had them on there since highschool, 3+ years and almost 50k now and besides a random nail, i've neva had a problem with them. a good tire i must say. i do got a set of goodyear mt/r's on my 85' and they continue to grow on me, sure do make alot of road noise tho.

I've got a set of Mickey Thompsons, tehy seem to be very good tire, got about 15K on them, barely showing wear. And really tough sidewalls from what I hear and read, never aired them down below 20psi though.

coopers.....

Interco superswamper radial. Had them for 3 years rotated once. The front right tire was screwed due to being out of alignment and single rotation. The other 3 had alot more than half of the tread left. I feel confident i could have run them for 3 more years. I dont offroad so cant comment on their offroad abilities. but, im sure they're great in the mud. I had them strictly for looks.

I have to say as far as all terrains i havent ever had a problem with BFG's and Kumho tires. My dad runs BFG m/t on his big block F-250 and it hooks up amazingly well and the A/T on his bronco are awesome in sand and on the road, im running kumho road venture A/T and havent had one problem with them other than deep snow i recommend any of those unless you drive around town alot, that wears out BFG muds quickly.

i have ran truxus sts tires and loved them. lots of plies. right now im running peerless baja a/t tires and there quite , gripp really well and have hard rubber. 33 12.5 15 s ran me 600 for 4.

Remingtons for wear... but they've gotten expensive lately, about as much as a BFG or so (used to be a cheap no-name). Not sure if their quality went downhill or not with the price increase.

Sport King AT tires seemed to wear pretty good, I got somewhere around 50k out of my last set an they did surprisingly well.

I've heard good things about all Super Swampers except Thornbirds. I've heard that the SSR tires, though pricey, will last 50k+

Not a big fan of BFG tires... seen them load up too easy in off-road conditions around here.

Michelin LTX A/T

They are quite (BFG's have slightly more noise) on the street and perform pretty well off-road. Plus they wear like iron.

Goodyear = excellent
