Tires/lifting

Guess its time to start searching for a lift kit then lol.

truckaddons.com offers a 4 inch lift for your ex for $218.99, then add nothing to it... b/c the camber bushings are cheaper at napa, bilstein shocks are better then skyjackers, and buy stonecrusher steering.

i edited this post to try to make it easier, it was really wordy at first.. lol, idk if you saw the first one or not. lol

The lift kit metioned in the link above is not a 4" it's a 2". If you go any larger than a 2" you are going to need drop brackets. If you are just looking for a mild but quality lift to clear bigger tires, go with the James Duff 2.5".

I do want the 4" lift now lol! What r drop brackets and how do they fit on?

drop brackets bolt in the place of the stock brackets that old the "sides" of the ttb axle on. they drop down the inner side of the axle so the whole axle is dropped down for the lift.

is the "plate style lift", the one i have... the cheapest way out for 4 inch suspension kit. the problem is the drop plate. now if you can buy this and the skyjacker brackets used, you are doing pretty good... but still, the Rough Country is not the best option (you get what you pay for)...
the james duff kit is a lot more money for less lift really, but an amazing kit..
on all kits but maybe the james duff you need softer springs and address the steering.

there is a nice ex on 33's and the build on it using f150 coil spacers and james duff shackles. it sits nice on 33's with 2 inch suspension and 2 inch body... it looks nice tho
the spacers http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/factoryspacer.htm
and the shackles (warrior not JD) http://www.jackit.com/shackles/shackle_ford.htm

So if I go with the shackles designed for the explorer AND the spacers, will it still be a 2" lift?

i'm assuming so b/c that's what that guy is saying, he has a 2 inch suspension lift.. personally i have a b2 and am just going by what i read online

those type of add a leafs wont work correctly to really lift it when the spring is under the axle. it almost works as a lowering block i think...

the front on either kit would work. but you still have an issue with the rear

Darn. I saw two shackle kits, but they said it would only raise the rear 1 and 1/2 inch. That wouldn't sit too well with the front being 2" higher. I'll have to keep looking.

does your truck sit level now?
get us some straight on side pics of the EX

As far as I know it does. I'll go take some pix.
