hey ya'll. im looking to add a 3" lift to my 99 ranger and was looking for a set of tires between 31-33 inches. i need a tire that can handle the ice and snow well for our lovely virginia winters and not hydroplane in the wet. i reckon i need a/t tiresbut dont know that much about them being that ive always run stockers. i dont off road too much and mainly drive the highway for work. the truck has 4.10s and i'm also looking to keep my stock 15x7 rims. i need some recommendations so any input would be appreciated.

All terrains are good for all around, but if you want some more for snow and ice, you can look into specific tires for that. But I wouldn't run those tires year round, or off-road.

I'd go with a good A/T and throw some weight in the rear. You sound like you know how to drive in the winter at least a little bit, and that's a big part of it.

I have BFG all terrain tires. they work good for driving on highways and do good in the rain. As for snow they do alright. They serve me well and last for a long time. Even with low tread they still grip hard. A great all-round tire.

yea, once you get a little sideways a few times, you figure it out real quick.
so a good a/t and some weight is no prob...just which a/t in particular. and what size would be good for what im looking to do. im looking for big but not too wide. a 10.5 is about as wide as im gonna go...

i got the Goodyear wrangler Silent Armors 265 75 15. i put them on mhy stock rims they are the same size as 31 at about 10 inces wide. they work great in the rain and great off
road for a/t i have not got to the snow but i heard they work great in the snow also

I have ran BF Goodrich All-Terrains in 30" of snow and went places where snow plows hadn't went without problems.

They are great in the rain and last forever.

For what you are looking for, the BFG A/T's will work great.

Yeah, the BFGs ar pretty good off road too for most situations. Sounds like 30x9.5 or 31x10.5 would suit you well.

allright then, thanks guys. that is what i wanted to hear. i was thinking along all those lines, just needed a direction to look giving that there is soo many to choose from.
