I thought I'd report my speedometer changes when I swapped tires & wheels on my 1990 Ranger Super Cab 2WD.

My Ranger Super Cab came with 14" rims and 215/70R14 tires and 3.45 rear end gears.

I switched to 15" rims and 235/75R15 tires.

Naturally this caused speedometer errors. Using my GPS I was able to check actual speeds:

Speedometer indicated 60 MPH, actual speed was 66 MPH

Speedometer indicated 65 MPH actual speed was 72 MPH.

I then swapped out the 7.5" rear end for an 8.8" rear with 3.73 gears. The speedometer is now accurate. Indicated speed is my actual speed. I guess I just got lucky with my new tire/wheel/rear gear combo.
