Will 235/60-16 tires fit 2003 Ford Ranger XL 2 door and if not, what would ideal tire size be for 16X8 wheels? Thanks in advance.

What is your application? "Ideal" is quite application dependant.

generally most rangers will have 215-235 and 55-75. Currently on my my 93 xlt I have 235/75/15's. But mine is an xlt so they sit a little higher and allow for a bigger tire. The size you said should be alright but they might be a little big. Perhaps a 215/60/16.

I have run 245/70-16 with 16 x 8 on my 2005, 2.3, XL, reg cab, coils up front.
while they fit with no problems, for a STREET DRIVEN they were too much tire and kind of overwhelmed the vehicle.
too much bounce & rebound for my tastes.
the 235/60-16 calculates to just over 27" , that's close to my stock 225/70-15 so my .02 is go for it.

check out the specs on Tire Rack, they show wheel sizes recommended for tire sizes, usually gives weight too.
