Are large tires necessary for a prerunner? A lot of people are running 33"s and 35"s. I want to run 31"s and a camburg 5.5 performance kit and not worry about fiberglass fenders. According to camburg's website this would work. Are there advantages to running a larger tire size? As long as I go with a quality tire (BFGoodrich A?T KO or General Grabber w/red lettering) will it matter?

There is a benefit of having a wider tire in loose sand, and from what I have seen, 33x12.50s seem to be very common on Rangers with glass fenders.

In my opinion, 31s will work fine, but once you start wanting to go faster, you will want bigger tires, and then fiberglass for at least the front, and then a bit of a snowball effect. That is usually how it goes.

agreed. Thats the kit I wanna get with 33's and glass fenders because I think it looks good and because more rubber to the ground the more traction you'll get. if you're going to jump the truck or really use the travel of the camburg I would recommend getting the glass fenders but as you said they aren't necessary but they look great and if something were to push the tire in too far you'll be glad you had em

i wouldnt jump with camburgs 5.5. its designed to take a beating, but it wont do a trophy truck jump.

you can get away with 32's, but 31's will work, they will look tiny though.

31's- Less rolling resistance, lighter (easier on hubs ect.) however less ground clearance

33x10.5- still pretty light, good ground clearance still less rolling resistance

33x12.5- heavy (in comparison) good ground clearance, good traction. Harder on parts like hubs and spindles ect.

Personally I like 33x10.5's that is whats going on my race truck

I don't plan on doing any jumping, just go fast off road. This has to be a DD as well, so I can't be taking too many risks with it, like jumping. Might add some bushwacker fender flares. Look more like an atv/side-by-side ;)
