Tire questions.

Hello all.

1994 Mazda B4000.
I need new tires. Right now I have 14" rims running with 195/70 on the fronts and 205/75 on the rears which seem to be with what the truck came with, stock.

No lift whatsoever.

I want to buy all new 15" rims and put new rubber on.

What would be the largest tire I can put on the 15" rims without rubbing on the front and also go that same size on the rear.

Also, if I do go from the stock 14" rim to a 15, is there ANY modifications that NEED to be done to the suspension?

So your stock tires measure an overall diameter of 24.7" in the front and 26.1" in the rear.

The general rule of thumb is that you're able to go about two sizes larger without modifying anything suspension-wise. So for 15" rims you can either stick with stock diameter, e.g. 205/60-R15 in the front and 215/65-R15 in the rear. Sticking with stock size leaves your odometer reading intact.

Or go the next size up and keep your stock tire size with the new rims, e.g. 195/70-R15 and 205/75-R15. Your odometer will begin to show false readings.

Or the next size after that. Anything higher will cause rubbing and possible suspension mods.

I think I would like to keep both tire sizes the same on the front and rear. I don't like the front looking dropped lower than the rear.

Well that's because when you have a big load in the back it'll look level with the front. Either way good luck.

I have never seen a Ranger that came with different sized tires. Someone probably put them on that way.
I went a different way than most with my four cylinder Ranger. I put 15x8 rims with 255/60R15's all the way around. No rubbing. Looks tough, handles amazing. I did have to change speedo gear on trans but it is super easy to do.

I've got stock aluminum rims on the B2500. I upgraded to Michelin LTX M/S-2 (extra load) P235-75R15
Gives a slight taller stance with original rims.
