Tire help

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger 4x4 with a 3" body lift, TT, and Belltech 6400 shackles. Got a good deal on some rockcrawlers earlier today so I'm now looking to get some new tires aswell. The specs of the wheels are 16x10 5-4.5" with a 4" BS. I already know that I want 33" tires, but don't know which would fit these wheels. Since they're 16x10's does that mean that 10" is the minimum width I can get? Looking at the wheels, they're reaaally wide, and deep. Here are some pictures of the wheels. Any help is greatly appreciated.

305/70/16 according to the tire calculator are about 32.8" tall and 12" wide. I personally wouldn't want to go much skinnier on a 10" wheel

You did I all backwards from my point of view. Find out what tires you can fit in there and then get the rims with the proper width and back spacing to fit. Those are really nice rims, hate to see them all dinged up.

Until recently i've been kinda confused about tire tire size and rim mesurements too ok.. mybe I still am I have a 32x11.50 tire I put next to a 10 inch width rim and the rim looks a inch wider than the tire... i'm so confused. so I see why you would say no smaller than 12.50s on a 10 inch rim I guess.

I would tend to agree. I have however seen 31x10.5 on a 15x10 wheel, I don't recommend it. The 10" wide wheel does give a really nice wide stance.
