Hey guys,

Looking for some insight about tire sizes. I bough a 1996 ranger XLT extended cab 2wd with a 5 speed manual. It currently has 215/70R15 tires on it. It is time for new ones and I am wonder if a set of 31X10.5's will fit without lifting the truck?

Also the truck has a 3.08 hear ratio will is that too tall of a ratio for 31's?

Thanks,
Fraser

3.73 or 4.10 would be better. 3.08 suck all around.

Also, posting your engine would have been helpful. Since you have 3.08s I'd say you have a 4.0.

Check out this chart for best combos.

Yeah its a 4.0 OHV. I am more wondering if they will fit properly I will be putting in a LSD or Locker in. I am more hoping to find a 3.73 or a 4.10 with a L/S but they are hard to find for good prices in Canada. So I may have to run it with the 3.08 for a while if it can turn them?

Or I could go to a 30X9.5 that could be a little better. We get lots of snow up here so there a great advantages to a narrower tire.
