i have a 91 ranger 2.3l 5 spd. i am going to put a roll pan on my truck, but i still want a way to pull a trailer even thought the last time i pull a trailer was 2yrs ago. i am wanting to put a hide away hitch on it with out buying one. here is what i am thinking. 2 inch tube, 1/4 inch thick across the back, welded to 1/4 thick plate and then set inside the frame. what do you think. i want to here your imput

it will need to be 2 1/2" 1/4 wall to fit a 2" ball mount, all the ranger hitches I have installed bolt up to the bottom of the frame railusind one of the bumper bolts and a factory hole that is about 8 or 9 inches toward the front of the truck, look up Curt hitches and get a picture of their hitch and copy that, its the simplest design I have seen you will need to drill a clearance hole to fit over the factory rivet in the frame
