Well i found my timing marks. I am going to go and try to get the Broncho II timed.![]()

Fixed it for ya
Seeing that it ran halfway decently, cant be off to far.
Then i fixed it for you
Yeah i was surprised. I was not really all that far off from where i timed it by ear. Well i set it to 12 with the advance blocked. It did not help a whole lot but it did some. I think the carb is just dumping way to much fuel in. I need to adjust the fuel mixture as i have not touched it yet. When i give it some gas it does the same thing my Bronco would do before the swap if i hit the skinny pedal to fast and deep. So tomorrow i am going to adjust the mixture and hopefully that will help.
I would try setting the timing at 10 degrees and adjust the idle screws for the highest idle or vacuum pressure with the advance connected to the vacuum tree (manifold vacuum). Then turn the curb idle screw out until you get around 800 rpm. make sure the engine is all the up to temp when making these adjustments. Once you get it dialed in then you can adjust the choke high idle speed at around 12 to 1400 rpm and the thermostat spring tension to fully open about 3/4 of operating temp about 4-5 minutes after you start it.
What size venturi carb and jets do you have in it. For best performance you want a 1.08 venturi with #48 or #50 jets.
What's it do when you hit the skinny pedal? When mine is cold and I hit the gas, it back fires out the intake but once warmed up, all is good except my damn high idle issue. I never touched my idle screws, due to I never took off the factory anti tampering things on them. But when the high idle does go away, she idles at 800rpmish.
If you can get a vacuum guage that will tell you if you have a vacuum leak or something else is wrong with your engine. Mine runs best at 16 hg at an idle and the idle screws are about 3 1/2 turns out each.
