I have a 93 2.3 2wd ranger with around 140k on it.I am replacing the timing belt and tensioner along with a new water pump, thermostat, all collant hoses, plugs and wires.I read on here that it is possible with some muscle to get off the belt without having to take of crankshaft sprocket is this possible? I dont have a jaw puller or the extra money to either buy or do the loan a tool thing. Is there any tricks I can try to get the sprocket off? I do have basic tools and a big pry bar but I just cant seem to get the bolt broke loose at all much less pressed off. Thanks in advance to any advice and or help.

you dont have to take off the sprocket but you DO have to remove the crank pulley and balancer with the large center bolt. the actual sprocket is behind that and it doesn't have any bolts holding it on.
