I'm the farthest thing from a professional photographer or photo editor, but I'v been screwing around with adobe lightroom some. My dad used to be into photography and was showing me some of his old tiltshift photos. I thought they were cool and I would try it. Let me know what you think.

I noticed it more in your last pictures looks good to me but I step up when I use a camera not my phone lol

Pictures were taken with a Kodak Digital camera. They're 12 megapixle pictures and look much better at fullsize. I wish my phone took pictures that clear.

The last two pictures have a stronger and quicker defocus, plus there are rocks and whatnot in the lower half of the pictures to catch the defocus rather then just smooth asphalt in the first two.

Im assumign the tiltshift is everything but the target of the phot going blurry? If so it looks pretty good.

I guess I should explain what Tilt-shift is.

"Tilt-shift photography" refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras, and sometimes specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene.

I gotcha, like putting the camera on the ground so the near ground looks WAY closer than objects at a distance. Kinda like The disney sword in the stone cartoon where the hunter points his finger into the woods towards the 'camera' and the tip of his finger is way larger thane verything else. Walleye vision:-)

Tilt shift makes everything look like a miniature... it works alot better with wide angle shots with lots of distance between the focal point and camera... let me see... i had a couple really good ones from the cruise... see what i get here

These are actually the island of Gran Turk (yea the entire island lol) from our cruise ship as we were docking...

This one is my favorite... Maybe if it was cropped slightly closer and the tilt shift more extreme it would really pop out...
Oh, and edit out the date/timestamp at the bottom... that way it makes it look more convincing

I apologize if I totally derailed your thread...

I thought these were pretty impressive for being taken with my celphone (motodroid 5mp)
Using a demo version of vignette.

Perfectly on track, love your pics. Are they edited or true Tilt-shift?
How's this?

I love the pics....Luckily my Samsung Wave has a Tilt-shift camera app..

to be completely honest with you, i don't like it... no offence, i think the blur makes it look odd... it's out of place for how you would think the picture should look, i understand the idea with the blur, but it just doesn't do it for me...

i'm also not a big fan of photo editing, i prefer to have it show up on my film (yes i still use a film SLR) the way i want the final product to look. this of course is only 1 person's opinion
