TIL: Today I Learned...

I love how the “today I learned” thread has turned into the “let’s collectively grouse about Aerostar brake drums being a pain” thread

there are no "pains" here, only outrageous challenges and random whatevers.
unfortunately there is no clear definition of "whatevers" so we occasionally wander just a bit. on purpose

Today YOU learned that TRS is well known for thread drift.

and to tie that in, as hot as it's been I'm sure a few could use some of that perfume now.
I prefer cologne. :icon_thumby:

Toilet water? I have a bottle of that in the garage since that's where it ended up for whatever reason, I imagine it's pretty flammable so I'll probably burn it at some point :)

old spice shoots a long flame out the tip if you light it. i expected the bottle to blow up but it didn't

TIL..... the boom that keeps coming from my neighbors farm isn’t my neighbor shooting woodchucks and rabbits. He’s got this gas cannon that fired off at a set interval. I guess the blackbird are eating his corn ( me too).
IHTL ( I hope to learn )...... how well that cannon fires a tennis ball.

They used to use those to keep geese away from treatment ponds at a place I worked. They were effective for a week or two then the geese got used to them so we had to move them around periodically. There was once a nest about 3ft. from one of the cannons.

I had to move them once, and was connecting everything back together. When power was reconnected, it immediately went into firing, not the delay portion of its program. I was leaned over the top of the cannon and heard a small hiss, then a couple seconds later BOOM!
