they have a much larger outer ring, plus the fins.

They used to use those to keep geese away from treatment ponds at a place I worked. They were effective for a week or two then the geese got used to them so we had to move them around periodically. There was once a nest about 3ft. from one of the cannons.TIL..... the boom that keeps coming from my neighbors farm isn’t my neighbor shooting woodchucks and rabbits. He’s got this gas cannon that fired off at a set interval. I guess the blackbird are eating his corn ( me too).
