So I just seafoamed my truck and after I was done The engine started ticking. Any Ideas?

and I used about a half bottle of the stuff and all i got was a tiny puff of smoke at the beginning. Does that just mean my engine was clean??

What method did you use? There's one excellent method and about 1000 that don't accomplish anything

where is the tick coming from........you are aware that a perfectly functioning fuel injector makes a ticking sound right?

did you replace your spark plugs after like it recommends you do?

Idk where its coming from but it wasn't there before the seafoam. And plugs and wires will come soon

get a hose or a S-scope and locate the tick......my guess is the injectors.................I would only use motorcraft or autolite DP plugs and the same for the wires..........you can get the autolite wires for around $25............I would change the oil too

Ok. Just curious cuz it doesnt say to change the plugs anywhere on the bottle so is it just something that past users of seafoam reccommend?

i thought it said it on the the bottle but i could be wrong i was always told to change plugs after wards

yeah i checked the bottle before i posted that haha, but maybe its just generally known to do it

yea where is the tick coming from? Does it increase and decrease with the motor? It is a tick and not a click right, like a relay?

when im driving at low throttle, it ticks like a train. the 'chugga chugga' sound you cant hear it at full throttle because my exhaust drowns it out, but i know it's there

ticking

what probably happened is you flushed all the varnish off the internals and the noise you hear is the rocker arms or lifters since they are the last to get oiled

Holy dead thread batman!

Mystery Oil... Check the MSDS sheet on it. Turpentine and lard... Mmm that's what I want in my engine.

Seafoam.... Oil, alcohol and Naptha. Not any better... Probably scored a bearing or dryed out an oiled surface.
