Throw Out Bearing Problem

Good Evening,
I have read two post describing the problem I have been having with my 83 ranger-2.8 with a tk 5 spd. I installed the transmission, replaced the clutch, master and slave cylinders. After doing this, I had a squeel that would go away by applying little pressure to the clutch. I changed the clutch kit again thinking it was defective and low and behold the second squeels too.

My question is.....do I need to install a better clutch, just the throw out bearing or what?? My daughter says buy a louder stereo!! Any suggestions?

Thanks, Alan

Hmm. well when the clutch pedal is out, the T/O bearing shouldn't be spinning at all, so maybe Start it up in Neutral, put the E brake on, block All 4 tires, on flat ground, and open up the inspection hole on the trans to see whats going on in there.

Does it only happen while sitting still or is it there while moving?

Sounds like internal to the tranny to me. Reason I say that is that applying pressure to the clutch all the internals in the tranny spin to a halt. Once you let off the clutch the internals start moving again. This only a guess and very well could be wrong but that is kinda what I am thinking at this point. Is this tranny new to the truck or is it the original one just pulled for a new clutch?

The squeeling is constant while the engine is running, whether sitting still in neutral or driving down the road. The transmission is new to the truck. I guess one could only hope for an easy fix such as a clutch or throw out bearing. I've even pondered that maybe something was misaligned during reinsatallation, although it was so easy, even a caveman could do it.

For some odd reason, I really like this little truck. It is the first ranger I've owned, most parts are plentiful and the possibilities are endless but this squeeling is too annoying. Is there another transmission option or does anyone know where one could be found, I havent been able to locate another one as of yet.

Thanks for all of your help, it's much appreciated.
