I can't seem to find anywhere that sells throttle cables for the 2.3 Ranger. Are they generic to all ranger engines? every place seems to throw no results as soon as I filter for the 2.3, but they have results for the v6 rangers.
The problem I have is that there is about an inch of excess cable. As in one inch of pedal travel does nothing to the cable. Hooking up an OBD2 scanner and pressing the pedal all the way to the floor registers about 85% throttle position.
I looked under the hood, and there doesn't appear to be any sort of adjusting mechanics for taking up slack.
I'm thinking of just swaging a stack of fishing sinkers on there to put the pedal in solid contact with something...
