Another question for you Red85. How did you attach the cable to the stock gas peddle?
Throttle cable mod. I used a Lokar TC1000U. It was like $20 or $30
I drilled a hole in the top of the pedal and fished the cable through. Simple. I used an aluminum throttle bracket to connect it to the carb.

on my 92 I cut the origin cable and slid the plastic peace off that attaches cable to peddle, slid lokar cable out of sleeve installed plastic peace on cable and put it back together worked great. peddle stayed in truck. 3 years later still smooth as silk.

I put on the Lokar cable last night. Great fit! 
I was able to use the little plastic end off of the crapy cable I bought to attach the Lokar cable to the stock foot peddle without any mods. It feels awesome! FYI...spend the money for this system and simplify your conversion. It also looks sweet. Thanks for everyones input.
