Are aftermarket throttle bodies for the 4.0 really a positive outcome add on?
i think ive seen some threads about this but just curious...I have dual exhaust and an intake for my 94 4.0...what would be a good power mod?..cam..headers...
thanks

from what ive heard on here, its not worth it.

You might notice a small gain when above four grand. However off idle and a little above you might notice some hesitation and power loss.
With some head work, headers, and a diferent cam the larger throttle body would preform with the cam and the open system to provide a few more usable horses.
It is hard to use the existing TB to it's fullest.

One thing that I like about my new one is that it has a new return spring. Much better feel to it.

I don't think it would be worth it unless you have some engine work done already. Like a previous poster said, new/ported out heads, headers, cam, etc, then yeah you would benefit from it.

Would only be remotely worth it if you spend a lot of time at WOT. If you're not at WOT, all you need to do is step on the gas pedal some more. The throttle plate will open up, allowing more air through.

+1 And the MAF sensor will work as designed, giving you the proper A/F for efficiency and power.....
