So i have my truck currently running just stright pipe from the cat back and i been pondering what i can toss on there for cheap. the ole fleet has a cherry bomb for 23 bucks. would that sound ok on a stock 2.8? any thoughts or input would be apperciated.

cherry bombs

My truck has a cherry bomb on it and I really like the sound with my 2.8L. Just my 2 cents

about what size is yours? the one i was looking at is a 28" and iv heard that the longer ones are quieter and deeper toned.there are ones i can get that are longer or shorter but they are not 2'' and id need an adapter. iv planned on putting it on where my stock muffer went... it should fit there i think. i did also have thoughts of maybe finding a way to get duals that end just before the back tires but im not sure how id go about that.

done!!!!

Well i just got done putting on a new cherry bomb. now all thats left is to get a good hanger on it. and see how she sounds.:headbang::icon_hornsup::icon_surprised:

My 86" has 2 cherry bombs and it just sounds mean...lol

yes mine sound pretty mean its not as loud as when i had it just straight pipe but not a bad thing being i pass cops all the time.....lol. but its makin a mettalic rattiling/clancking now. i think its the heat sheild on the cat or the pre cat?

Get a 29.99 thrush welded muffler from summit, its just like a flowmaster. I had a pair on my stang and they sound great.

im thinking of putting one of them on the dakota

I have the Thrush 2.5" on my B2 with gutted cats and some other little stuff. It sound flat out nasty! Think of a rowdy little small-block minus 2 cylinders.

ahh in the words of tim taylor"ohh hooah ahho" or something like that lol

My dad put a flowmaster 40 si/so on his 92 Ranger 2.9. People are always asking him about how he put a v8 in it. :)

theres no way you could ever compare a 2.9 to a v8 sound. imo flowmasters sound terrible. but to each his own

My Flowmaster 40 series sounds great behind a 4.0 !
