engine replacement and transmission rebuild.

"it'll be done in a month"
"it'll be done in two months"
"it'll be done next month"
"It'll be done next month"
(rinse repeat)

"well... actually all that money you gave us, the business partner stole it, so we can't get your transmission and engine back..."

*fast forward another six months*
"we got your engine and transmission back, it should be done at the end of the week."

Youch... not sure I would have been that patient, lol.

Of course, my choptop has been sitting at my mechanics for over 3 years now.... but at least I just have to walk out into the driveway to see the progress, lol. But I am anxious to have it done. I have most of the parts, just lacking some time and a few final pieces.

Ouch that really blows! That's all on him he shoulda had insurance for theft! So when you get it rollin post some pics!!!

Good news!!!!

All garages around here have a big azz sign that reads "Not responsible for cars left on lot"-

I think he meant the garage owner should have been insured against the theft of the money paid for parts and services.

that's why i do stuff myself. i remember engine replacements would sit in my dads shop for a month or 2 because he was the only mechanic half the time and couldn't work on it more than every other day or so. so much easier to just take a weekend and do it yourself...
