the future wife and i are thinking of getting a new car. the ranger is down for a bit, the bronco is on jack stands, and the 2 door yellow zx2...is well ummm does not fit what i want. as in what we want, as in the future wife is telling me to get a new car and get rid of my early ricer car that i tried to pick up chicks in:icon_thumby:. what do you guys and gals think a good car would be? what it has to be is a 4 door, auto, good on gas, safe. and number one thing. NOT A GM CAR:thefinger:.

10,000 to 16,000? or cheaper if i had the money. or i was mitt Romney...i would get a 2005 ford gt and the wife and i would be on the inside and i would strap the baby on the roof....

the v6 chargers are kinda nice. weird for me to say that...but, yeah lol.
even the hemi's but yeah.

I've got a 97 Taurus SHO that you could buy for $2500 then have money left over to find you another b2 or ranger or something..

The chargers are nice riding and comfortable cars, but for the money, I would get a nice fusion or Taurus/ Taurus x

My moms 2011 Fusion has already broke on her three times...trans not shifting right, motor leak and a stupid wheel bearing went out all before 10,000 miles. I told her to buy it last year. It was brand new on the lot and she liked the color. Duh!!! I told her it was a great car....Ahhhhhhhh!! Will she still love me, tomorrow?? lol!! I hope she has no more issues.

I have a 2012 Fusion 4cyl and love it. No problems and on highway trips I've been getting 34-35mpg.

I work with our city that has been using Chargers for our police cars and they finally bought the last one. They've had plenty of trouble with them. They're now going to try the Chev and Fords to see which one they're going to use. Two other cities around here are doing the same. We miss our Crown Vics that were pretty bullet proof.

"hangs head in shame" We traded in my wife's fully loaded 2008 Eddie Bauer Expedition on a Civic. It is an awesome little car. Easily gets 40 mpg on the highway. Beats the sh!t out of a hybrid. Wifey-mate is still not happy though. I'm looking at Fusions too.

A brandy new Ford Focus might be close to your price range. Good first family car, and gets great gas mileage. 40mpg I think.

If you can pick up a 2 year old car that has some warranty left on it.

kind of thinking of the 2013 dodge dart? it is based off of a Alfa Romeo Giulietta with the new tiger shark 2.0, i did test drive the rally package with the 1.4 turbo 6 speed manual...not bad.

and maybe i will try a 2013 focus or something

If I ever find myself in that position I will be shopping for a Fusion.

'Till then I will be rockin' trucks though. :icon_thumby:
