Winter is closing in and I think I am going to have to buy a set of tires for my B2. I was thinking about buying cheap tires, but I have those on there now (Liberator A/T)

I thought about buying a set of BFG AT's. Problem is, the OEM tire size is 205/75/15 and the smallest they come in is LT215/75/15. LT is a plus, because I've always had Passenger tires, but will the difference screw up my speedo enough to need to replace something else?

Does it make sense to put this good a tire on or should I just buy the cheap stuff again.

This is my ONLY winter vehicle. Last winter, when it got bad I drove the 99 Ranger with Yokohama Geolander's (Great tire, BTW) and a l/s rear end. I rarely used 4wd when driving it.

You should be fine with the size you are looking at.

Its only a 2.1% difference. So the speedometer will read 2% slower.

I'm really not a fan Of BFG AT's.....seen way too many come back to work separated.

Check into some of the new Goodyear wranglers. Heard nothing but good things about them.

Wrangler AT/S and Duratrac both seems like damn good tires.

I had those Wrangler's on my 2001 Ranger when I got it. Those things SUCKED! First, they were terrible for the warpage that all the IFS RBV's get. Secondly I could get stuck in a puddle.

I put Bridgestone Dueler A/T's on it just before I sold it and loved those tires.

The wife's 2002 Sport Trac I bought in December has the Wrangler's on it. The only reason I've not replaced them is because they are almost new.

She even noticed, she asked me why she slides so much in the new truck (which weight a shitload more) compared to her old truck (reg cab ranger) If she can notice, then it's bad.

I just put a set of BFG's on my F-250 before I sold it, but from what I used them, they did great.

However, I think your right, I may go with something else. Either the Dueler's again like on the Ranger or the Yokohama's like on the wife's old Ranger.

They are at least $20 more per tire than the above mentioned.

OOPS! Just noticed you said AT/S, not the RT/S junk I just ranted about.

My brother runs the at/s on his 07 f150, and we get serious snow here.

They are very good in snow he found. I have driven them on a few different vehicles as well in the winter and they had very good traction.

Had the RT/s on my 05 sport trac when I got it. Yes they did indeed suck big time. I'm running 265/75r16 Procomp AT's and have been extremely pleased with them in the snow and over all in general. Plug you can get them for a 4 for 3 deal most times.

If not the Duratrac look at the Wrangler Territory too. It is more of a 'toned done' more street version of the Duratrac.

Heard they are pretty good.

i hate good years there all over the road dont get any traction and weve had about 5 sets all crap both my parents run bfg ats and they are amazing tires and the only time i saw a set seperate was from dry rot

Well each to their own. I see quite a few tires at the dealership. Haven't had problems with the wranglers, have seen many separated BFG's.

I've had no issues whatsoever with my Goodyears. They ride better than the MICHELIN's that were on my truck. BFG Mall-Terrains are like a name brand clothing line nowadays, everyone and their brother has them.

I don't care that much for my Goodyears, they seem to have some quality-control issues, whereas similar BFGs have generally been better (out-of-roundness mainly). Of course this is with my MT/Rs, so I can't say if their QC is just as loose on the AT/S or Duratrac or not.

Like said, 215/75R15 is not all that far off from 205/75R15 that I doubt you'd really notice the difference (most speedos tend to read about 2% fast anyway, so that size might actually work out for the better).

i have P235 on my BII right now, the front tires rub a tiny tiny bit on the front sway bar, but i've had no other problems with that size tire....my speedo is off maybe 2 mph's, if that
