thinking about extended radius arms

I either go to East TN Steel Supply in Knox or Noble Metals here in Oak Ridge. Since you wont need a full stick of anything I'd prolly just go to Noble. They sell pieces or you can find scrap laying around and get it for cheap.

my father is a shop forman at superior steel in knox so maybe i can see what he has lying around. but he's off all week. i guess ill just check out some scrap yards i need to get these things started and done!

i will be making my extended arms after the first of the year.......i heard from a reliable source Santa may be bringing me a welder:icon_thumby::yahoo:

oh dang! i need your santa to stop by my house then! ill have to take mine to my dads shop or get some good local welder to weld mine up for me... :bawling:

i have access to a welder at my work ( big ol' Miller 3 phase stick.... ) but i have wanted a 240V Mig at home for sometime....

good luck on the arms...can't wait to see em' on the 12th:icon_thumby:

I could prolly help out on the welding. PM me your E-mail addy and we can see if our schedules will allow it.

pm'd and that would help out alot! should be getting everything i need to get them going tomorrow.

picked up some rad arms from pull a part today still have to get some 2" x .25 tube sometime this week when work allows.

also picking up these wheels in the morning!:headbang:
15x10 with 4" backspacing, now i need some tires to wrap around em! anyone got a decent set of 33-35's they want to get rid of cheap?

Be sure to get DOM tube for your arms (A513-5, 1020 steel). If it's not DOM it won't be as strong (alternatively you could upsize to 2¼" regular tubing, but this adds some weight and doesn't fit in the arm as well).

so i didnt notice when i picked them up but the arms i got from pull a part are bent some where they bolt to the beam... could probably just bend them back into place but might pick up another set sometime this week. thats why theres been no progress.

if you bend them back....just weld a reinforcing plate on the outsides:icon_thumby:
