Alright so I'm just finishing up the 2wd 302 swap and I'm already considering tearing the truck apart again lol.

Actually, it wont happen for a good while since I'm going to be taking my time gathering parts up. But for now I just wanna get a rough idea on what I'm going to need.

So far, here's what I've come up with:

EB dana 44 with disc brakes and radius arms

78-79 f150?? radius arm brackets

coils from ???

gotta fab up a track bar and make a bracket that bolts to the frame by the steering gear. probably an axle bracket from ruffstuff?

driveshafts

drop pitman arm

np205 tcase

4wd C6 transmission

some kind of linkage for the tcase

longer shocks and probably axle tabs from ruffstuff

not quite sure what to do for the tie rod that goes from the pitman arm to the other one going between the two knuckles....

I'm getting another C6 to minimize downtime. That way I wont have to pull my trans to rebuild it and convert it to 4wd. I'm gonna do a complete rebuild of it. High performance clutches + bands, possibly a wide ratio kit, r code servo, high stall converter, auto/true manual shift kit, adjustable modulator, and of course all new bearings and seals. That setup will complement the 302 mods that are to come quite nicely and reliably.

I will also be rebuilding the axle before it goes in. New balljoints, tie rod ends, brakes, bearings, seals, radius arm bushings, wheel joints, lower gears, mini spool, and warn or superwinch hubs.

Hows that sound?

just got to thinking about the tcase linkage. i really dont want to do anything as intrusive as another shift lever (i already have a B&M unimatic shifter). i think it will look too cluttered, and i make a BIG deal about my interior since i spend so much time in my truck. so i was thinking about trying to rig up something like this toyota parking brake handle.

i figure i could make it work as long as the tcase has a straight-line shift pattern. i would make it so that 2wd is all the way in, and then other, less often used settings are out. if the cable is nice and smooth, i should be able to feel the detents in the tcase.

if i could make that work, i think it would be a much cleaner looking alternative to a big shifter taking up room in my cab.

any thoughts?

Wire up an electric 1354 and swap radio bezel out for one off of a 4wd with the 4wd switch. That would save you from another lever completely. Dont think a cable would work for a t-case and if it did you would have the ebrake lever in yo face in 4 low.

Honestly, the ebrake sounds like a very stupid idea. I can't imagine trying to wheel that thing with a post sticking a foot out at me...

Don't be a pussy, just put it next to your shifter like ever other normal human being running non electric t-cases.

Oh and it sounds like you have a decent plan. Now get it done.

i considered that, but will a 1354 bolt up to a C6? because i know that behind my fake air vent there is a plug for the 4wd option. so does that mean wiring will be a piece of cake?

also, what kind of coils should i use? i want about 6" of lift when everything is said and done... oh and i have a little more weight than usual up front, with the 302 and a heavy winch bumper (on its way)...

what tranny you got hooked up to the 302 now? i dont think you could make a t-case shifter like that yota e-brake. i think the linkage would have to go into the engine compartment and then it would hit the engine......MAYBE it's just me imagining how you'd do it. i have a 1354 electronic t-case i'll sell ya....not sure if it'll bolt to the c6

hmmm well im definitely going to look into the electric tcase... i like the stock look of the controls. and i'll toss on a new motor assembly for sure when i rebuild everything just to make sure its reliable.

anyone know if an electric 1354 will bolt to a c6?

doesnt ford use some standard 6 bolt pattern or something??
