hey smilin, very sweet build you have going there. !!! tons of work going on. that thing will rock when you get it finished. Thanks for the pictures. what type of headers you running there? and that steering shaft looks wild will it bind at all? what rear end is that?

I see why you stated go see the bank and beg for a loan.... lol

cheers looks good

like ur valve covers. couldn't find them in 408 tall size

thanks, found those 3-4 years back on CL for a blow out price of 50 bucks ... they look new as the guy said he got them and never used them and wanted to sell... it was a no thought given to buy it. the 4 bbl intake i got from a guy who came over one day to buy some parts I had for sale. he seen the cleve on the stand and said he had a 4 bbl intake that is collecting dust... 80 bucks there... :) so got some neat goodies at a great price.

cheers

there is always tons of hell yeah going on around here... LOL

The steering shaft is within angle specs, no greater than 30 degrees. They are Sanderson shorty headers w/ 3" collectors. You got some cool prices on Cleveland stuff, good stuff is getting harder to find = more expensive. Don't know if you've checked out the history of these motors but they are some badass units in stock form but also can handle some extreme mods!

Good to hear the steering will work. it looks like a wild angle for sure. I will look into sanderson headers and see what is there and if i can swing something.

As for what the motor is going to get inside... not sure. will be fairly"mild" I don't have any crazy plans with it (yet) I have seen these thing do some crazy stuff yes. However running a set of 2V heads so won't be spinning faster. and I am ok with that.

Did you build your own engine? and what is your parts list that you have in yours?

cheers

Nice looking job, Jack. If you stay ahead of the Chevys the oil they leak won't get on your windshield.

was out re-ringing the pistons today. and decided to mock up the engine... here is my new desktop picture to get me motivated as to what she will look like in a few weeks :) ... been collecting these goodies for a few years.
If you're doing all that work to make power, I assume the Edelbog is just keeping dust out of the intake until you bolt on the Holley.

Yup, an 850 double pumper:)

Hey Angie. I was assisted by a friend on the motor build, or should I say I assisted him! He is an expert and a machinist by trade so there's that .
It's a SCAT forged crank. Scat H beam rods. C.P. (Carillo) 12.5 to 1 Pistons. Comp Cams .612 lift Hydraulic roller cam with Solid lifters, .006 lash.
The heads (4V) were massaged, back in the day, by the fellow who also did Kenny Bernstein's head work. I believe Sanchez was his name??
I'm expecting to get 500-550 BHP in N/A form w/o nitrous (which may become an option?). 4.10 axle w/torsen locker from an '07 FX4, Level 2 Ranger out back.
And I'm excited about gettin' this baby on the road! Can't wait to power shift a 4 speed again!

Smilin, what type system did you guys use for the thermostat & bypass restricter?

Here's what I did, not proven yet but I did a lot of research and called this guy for more info. He claims that this IS the cure for Clevelands overheating issues. I would give him a call.
