I've had the opposite experience with Pits. At the kennel I worked at for a year, the majority of the dogs we had were Pit Bulls, and the majority of them were the nicest dogs you've ever seen. I'm not really a fan of the breed but when raised properly they can be very sweet dogs.I know everyone has thier choice of K-9's, but make sure you get a good one whether it be from the animal shelter or not. I personally can't stand anykind of pits. Everyone I have come encountered with are pure aggression & that's a waste. Two of my neighbors have a pit 1 is 65 lbs, 2 is 70 lbs. I have been around all kinds of K-9's and my favorite are Dobies and Rotties, I am on my second Rottie I have a picture of him in my avator. This breed is everything you need and can want in a K-9. Yeah thier size is alot bigger then what most want, the 2 pits tried to attack me and my Rottie on different days and those 2 found out real quick they are messing with the wrong Dog. At 135 lbs those pits and other dogs who tried to attack from the negativity of the owners and the way I trained mine, my Rottie has always protected me from no matter what. Even 1 time he protected me when a mountain lion tried to attack, I have never seen him be that aggressive and the big cat ran away real quick.
I'll stay with my Rotts.
For me it's either, Border Collies, Aussie Shepherds, or Heelers.
Chows are fawking sons of bitches, I had one when I was younger, that dog is probably burning in hell. Same goes for all the Chows that ever came into the kennel. The chow was more practical and I think had more self control, but it is nice to have a dog you can take places that very rarely takes offence to anything.
Probably the only breed I actively hate is the chow however I dislike labs and German shepherds for the most part, maybe I'm weird?
