Its time to replace my thermostat and i was looking around to see how hard it's going to be and it looks like there is a lot to tend to just to replace the stupid thing.

It looks like i have to remove the belt cover and if i remove the belt cover that means il have to remove the tensioner pully. The heater hose needs to be removed. I don't know if all this is necessary but from looking at the engine bay it looks harder than i thought.

I guess what im asking is all this necessary to replace it?? :icon_confused:

Dude
To remobve the thermostat housing you do not need to take off the timing cover.
It is two bolts, and both are accessible.
Only thing you need to do is drain some of your coolant
And pop off the two hoses that connect to the housing.(they will have some coolant in them)

I just did this last week. You dont need to remove the timing belt cover, but I did un-pop it so I can push it aside, the top of it was just getting in my way.
