Hey guys not sure if anyone posted this yet but Lowes is emptying their tool supply to make room for a new supplier.

Nearly all of their tools are at least 50% off!!!

Seeing as a lot of their tools are made in USA by danaher you can get the same quality as craftsman for far cheaper prices.

ITS AWESOME. Grab em while they last. The new sockets and wrenches for the Kobalt brand will be made by LG Sourcing in Taiwan now. They already have them in the stores. Fortunately they look to be pretty good quality but I'm grabbing the remaining supplies of USA tools myself...

Dangit! I was just starting to like the Kobalt brand too. Definitely will take a look at what they have!

Awsome! I'm getting some cash wednsday and was gonna go in to get a few things. Sucks that they are moving to an outsourced supplier though.

Outsourcing.......It's the (anti) American way! Why is it that we Capitalist are determined to cut our own throats with a Foreigner's knife???

Tools! Sale! Tools! Sale!
The two words that a tool-junkie loves to hear, together in one sentence!!!!

Lowe's is only about 7 miles from me.......hmmmmmm......road trip tomorrow?

i'm so going to lowe's tomorrow! just to check it out

I only wish they would find some old stock from when JH Williams made them. I bought all I could afford, but there is some more stuff I would have liked to get.

It's a vicious double edged butter knife. On the one hand, I get to go all apey in the Lowes and snatch up lots of good tools for even better prices so that I may kick off my own tool collection instead of having to borrow them. On the flipside, the tools I'm buying will be replaced by lower quality product.

It's nothing to do with the nationality of the tools, it's about cost. The only way for Lowes to afford the switch to outsourced is to buy a MUCH cheaper product, and with tools, cheaper means lesser quality most of the time. Not only must they buy the cheaper tools, but have them shipped over an ocean. The result- something that is 20% cheaper but only 20% as good.

Ya it's an awesome way to take more people out of a job. I guess were trying to help other country's unemployment by increasing our own. Good job corporate America! It's all about money, and not ours.

It will never change, cause I hear it all the time. We'll keep buying the shit. I work at Ace, 90% of our customers are grumpy old men, some WW2 vets, or Vietnam vets, they complain about Chinese made crap to me for 10 minutes, then pick up a Ace tool or product and leave. 100% of all Ace tools are Chinese, 75% of all Ace products are Chinese, the exception being chemical base products such as paint and glues.

Technically they are outsourcing to themselves, the "LG Sourcing" company is owned by Lowes, so now they cut away the middle man -- Danaher.

From a business perspective it's great, from a mechanic's point of view its kinda ehhh...

I'll say it again, the new tools don't look bad, for most people they will work fine, but it sucks to see them get taken overseas....

I saw that the other day and wondered why everything was clearance. Unfortunately it was picked oevr pretty damn good by the time I got there.......

Well, I bought a set of deep well sockets even though they were made in Tawain. It even included the illustrious 18 mm one to get the shocks off. $10.00!!! It's a father's day special.
