So I see a response about a tractor or farming/gardening almost everyday on this site (ok I'm exaggerating some) but there should be a "Farm and Garden" section on here. I think it would be pretty neat thread with off the wall subjects I'm sure. I have a bad problem of buying chainsaws and mowers or anything with wheels and/or a motor lol. Would be nice to see what kind of deals people come across or maybe a "bartering" section on here. I got a killer deal on a Husqvarna 55 (1998 model) for $30. The guy had the Husqvarna and 2 poulans for $60, said the poulans would fire on ether but no info on the Husqvarna. I told him I didn't want the poulans and just want the Husqvarna. He wanted $25 but I gave him 30 since he met me halfway on my lunch break. I get the saw and it has great compression. I put good gas mix in it and tried starting... no luck. After a dozen pulls I knew it wasn't gonna start but I did smell fuel so it seems to getting fuel. I hold the wire on the spark plug and pull the cord and nothing, no shock or spark. So I got a new coil on order for a whopping $12.50 with a new spark plug. Should be here Friday so I can't wait! I'm hoping once I get it running that I'll have less than $50 in a decent saw. It's got a 18" bar with a sharp chain but I think I'm gonna put a 20" bar with a full chisel and use as a felling saw. Currently I use a Stihl ms250 which has never let me down and has plenty of power for what I cut. It's got a muffler mod so it makes a dash more power. Ok enough talking about my deal.....

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR GOOD DEALS??

I picked up a PoulenPro 50cc 20" bar out of Princess Auto mark down bin for $30. When I asked they said the chain was higher ed but it runs. Bought it and filed the boogers out of the chain where its slides on the bar. It runs fantastic. I already have one the same size/model so order a ripping chain for this one so I can saw some slabs.

Last years garden was a bust for me... it was just so wet here spring and early summer. I never got the ground worked and plants in the dirt.

I see they're advertising all the seeds and seed starting stuff... so it's about time to get going. Planning to get my little greenhouse out and put together in the next week or so.

Here's a greenhouse I made my wife out of old glass doors. Honestly works really good other than I need to replace the roof. I used the cheap clear plastic roofing stuff that they say is UV resistant and ideal for pergola's and what not. Well its been 2 years and the plastic is cracking and breaking as if it's brittle from the sun. So I need to replace that with something that's gonna last more than 2 years.

Tie these 2 threads together for the Lawn & Garden section.

Can we include barnyard animals in the farm and garden section?

I got a new chainsaw the other day:

Found out why it has no compression:

Oddly the bore looks perfect though, so insert $40 piston into free saw and we will see what we get...

Knowing how this poor thing was treated $5 on a garage sale would be too much. But two weeks before it lost compression it got a new bar/chain and carb. Probable that the customer knocked stuff into the engine replacing the carb... the air filter has seen a better day too. But aside from the oiler there isn't much left to screw up on it...

If you baffooons get a garden section, i demand a section where i can discuss the insane images i see in the marble tile patterns on my bathroom floor while pooping.

Nice score on the chainsaw. That thing has a wicked score mark on the piston but you said the walls were good? That's odd. What size echo is it? I've determined my $30 husqy needs a little more work. I replaced the coil with a new one, still no spark. Messaged the seller that it had no spark and they emailed back in broken English asking if I didn't get the spark plug. Emailed again saying the coil was bad and they finally sent another coil. Second coil was good but still wouldn't fire. Compression test showed 85psi MAX but I couldn't keep the de-comp valve shut but still.... Haven't messed with it since the comp test. I will have to pull the muffler and get a peak inside. I assume it will need a new jug and ring, maybe a piston but these parts are oddly really cheap online. whenever I get my tax money I will sink some new parts in it and hopefully have a good backup saw. More like a second saw since I never have issues with my stihl chainsaw. I think I have a chainsaw for every day of the week and then some.

Dirtman, I see presidents when looking at spackled ceilings.... Is there a self help group for this? HAHA

@Dirtman
When did you tile the furnace?
With marble yet....must have fell into some liquid gold.
