That actually sounds pretty organized.

In theory it is… in practicality, I don’t always clean up after a job is finished. Sometimes I have to organize my tools before I start another project.
If it’s late, I’ll throw everything in a drawer and “deal with it tomorrow”.

I do a box, cardboard box
Cleanup is, everything in the box

So now I have to go thru a few boxes AND the tool chest to find tools, lol

But at some point I run out of boxes so have to put things away, sad day, I feel controlled, no longer a free spirit

Organization is what I want from other people, its a mental condition
Me, I want freedom from any mental oppression pounded into me by adults when I was growing up, clean your room, that doesn't go there, you know there is a place for that,.............you will go blind if you keep doing that
Mental abuse, and I can see just fine

Anyone can open a drawer and grab a tool from a well organized toolbox, but it take a strong mind to always remember where you left something.

I'm a deal with it tomorrow type for sure. Also I don't like putting a tool away if I'm gonna need it again any time soon, so the clutter builds quick ...occasionally I'll have to stop and clean up a bit, regroup.

I still have my school bus, my tool crib, a smaller 6 by 10' enclosed trailer, my siding trailer, and a flat deck car hauler with an old RV that I need the motor out of for my SnapOn van. All of these are full... mainly tools.

A garage is not meant to hold a car, it’s meant to hold car related clutter.

They are only good for very rough cuts, and entertaining girls or pretty boys that want to play shop (they like sparks). I stopped using em years ago. Might as well go angle grinder cutoff wheel. I stuck to band saws, until I discovered the slugger. This thing cuts mild steel like butter, dang straight too, especially if you purchase the blade for cutting stainless. they aren't cheap ($140-$170 a blade), but if you don't chip a tooth. they can be resharpened. There's a few other brands, but the bases on em suck, this is the only one that actually holds and cuts miters (I still add clamps anyways). I'm gonna give away my old beat makita and a stack of abrasive blades this weekend. Got my slugger for $480 from the local Airgas shop. I love when brick and mortar beats online prices (and service).

Pfft. Where's the fun in precise cuts? That's why I switched to metal fab from cabinetry. Half inch too short? Fill it with weld! Miter off? Fry it together and bend it like Beckham!

Kidding of course, Fein makes really nice stuff. I really liked woodworking and took a bunch of VoTech courses in HS. I figured it was a good backup option if engineering didn't work out. I ended up building cabinets and furniture as a job for a couple summers and during holidays while in college and it ruined woodworking for me in two ways. First, production type work vacuums the fun out of anything. Second, after using the industrial (expensive) tools and jigs they had I couldn't go back to the homeowner grade stuff I could afford without getting extremely frustrated.
