I have a friends 2000 Ford ranger 4.0 v6 4x4 that the main lights for the instrument panels were out. He explained to me he always stuck to using the key to lock the vehicle due to the theft apparently. Ok understood be cautious don't want to get into that mess. Well as it always go what you thinks going to be easy turns on you. Found no power to lights at instrument cluster. Cleaned the dimmer and metered for power. Found it came from the aux relay in a Hornet 700t security system. Butt splices galore what a hack job. After all said and done theft light is normal untill turning to crank then I get the fast pulse theft light. No crank. No "ground" at crank relay. Power at crank relay is there. My question is the only part of that hornet that seems to connect directly to the theft system is the locks. I don't know if the actuators are not working properly but the driver's side doesnt work and the passengers side you can see the lock indicator move but never actually locks or unlocks. So back to the question does the OEM keyless module interact with the theft module and what can cause the theft light to blink. Cant find info on it. I did wait for the light to quit rapidly blinking and it gave me two pulses than a long pulse then repeat. Couldn't differentiate what code that was.
