The Victim

i'm not saying you need it but if that would be my truck i'd take a look at maybe getting a winch on that thing . may be usefull for future trips.:dunno: but what do i know i spend my time on the pavement unless i'm on the 6x6..:yahoo:

lol yep Im looking into a winch i was stuck there sittin on the axles after tryin to pull a friends stuck atv out of all things.....

I'm looking into a 20 ton pto winch If i can find a way to make it work if not Ill prolly just buy a used one. It took alot of chain to get me out with a friend 4x4 ranger loaded down with firewood to get traction and 3 guys pushing that weigh over 180lbs a piece lol.

I'm a lil late but I can back you up on the spinning all 4 tires thing. I got a 2.9L sittin on 31's with 4:10's and I've spun 3 on dry pavement, and 4 on wet. Plus I got the automatic transmission so it's not like I can dump the clutch.

I can spin 4 tires...in the mud with my 2.8 and whip brodies in 2wd on clean dry pavement. And the D28 has 12 bolts. Hell I've never broken anything on or in my axles its everything else that cant take it.

Tha is a sweet truck some might say but... I Think Its Awesome! Looks like a good trail/mud truck.

lol Yeah I like it but those ltbs dont float...... in 3 passes I had those ruts... although I was trudging through knee deep mud so that could have been my problem. Im 5'2" so knee deep isnt truck swallowing lol.

eh just my opinion but it sounded to me like you were coming off as a dick in yer last couple posts.

Chill, I always come off as a dick when I read posts with more puffing than fact.

Midget

Looks good!

since its a trail beater you mite want to think about welding the rear spiders, perhaps the front too. A d35 is just as close as the nearest scrap yard.

It has a detroit in the rear I even pulled the cover to check and the front acts alot better than stock so Im guessing it has something done to the front but Im not pulling anything off that till its time to do an SAS (whenever I snap a shaft or U joint its going that route) and once it gets solid axles both will be locked the rear will prolly be welded and possibly the front too. Im just having fun with it for now playing around.

I SPOKE TOOO SOON lol........ sheared an axle shaft about an hour ago drivers side is missing the Ujoint and all the ears to hold it in place lol. TIME FOR SAS.

Ok so I cheaped out and just replaced the axle for now b/c I couldnt find a good enough deal on solid axles and have alot of plans for it in May and dont want to miss out on the fun. Also replaced both doors since both latches were busted on the originals on the inside and both were pretty mangled from friendly trees and I noticed the doors with the vent window are alot heavier than ones without.... Also started work on my spare tire carrier in the bed now I just need to get a spare tire and some axles lined up so I can replace everything once I get some good weather and time off. Taking the beast to Kirksville missouri on the 10th of May to check out the Farm for its maiden voyage then the MIOBI event on 22-25

SAS IS DONE!!!!!! lol D44/D60 with CJ 2" leafs up front and stock rangers leafs in the rear with overload removed and inboarded.
Ok soo one thing I forgot to do before starting this.... make sure the trailer is wide enough and it just BARELY fits I have to drive one tire on top of the fenders to get it past them. its a good thing its a home built trailer with thick steel fenders.

All of this was brought about b/c I stripped the front ring and pinion and when I removed it I found a set of Richmond 4:56's in a ****ing D28....ok so the guy didnt lie to me but he was an idiot...

This weekend is its first outing at the MIOBI memorial day run.

BTW if anyone is from southern Iowa check out the flyer in the midwest section.

My brake pedal is spongey now(it wasnt perfect before the SAS) but the truck stops seemingly fine. Would this be because Im using dual piston front calipers with a stockmaster cylinder? If I unhook the Vac booster its all good but when I plug it back it it returns to spongey. Its not air in the lines Ive bled the brakes 3 times now and no air just lots of wasted fluid...

Edit: this is also posted in the brake section just kinda in a rush to get the problem fixed.

I havent been on in a few months so heres some updates axle swap with CJ springs kicks arse offroad however front driveshaft is bringing the suck... I swapped in a manual shift T case and exploding the auto shift one and managed to roll it last month and jsut finally got all the glass out of it and started on the new cage.
These are before the flop.

The truck is now no longer sporting doors/glass/fenders/healiner/ or the old toolbox as it was smashed by a tree but ill post up some new pics when I get the rollbar finished. Club rules mandate a rollbar to go doorless and they said mine was too far behind the driver soo im puttin another exo style behind the front seats and tieing it into the rear section so its slowly becoming a exo cage.... downside though my pipe bender took a crap so coing to be alot of cutting and welding.
