Just wonder if anyone decides to answer. Did know if this is the right place to put it. But if you could build the ultimate RANGER/ B-II what year and what would be done to make it the ULTIMATE? I am just wondering trying to some up with ideas to build my next project...:icon_welder:

How I would do it.

I'd start with my 88 ranger super cab 2.9 stick 4x4. I build a 4.0 with a Tom Morona 4.3 stroker kit,JBA headers, true dual glasspacks and some kind of intake that has forced induction, stuff that in there along with a newer M5OD-R2 out of a ranger. Then I swap in a 95+ explorer 8.8 with disc brakes and a Dana 35 out of any 90-97 ranger/explorer, I'd stuff those with 5:13's. I'd pull out a giant wad of money from my fake wallet and have the beams cut and turned to replicate the Zimmerman TTB mod incorporating around 8" of lift and for the rear I'd swap in some Chebby 64" leaves with a little bit longer shackle. No body lift and some 38.5/12.5/15 BFG Mud terrains. :icon_thumby::3gears:

sounds strong and sounds as if you have given this some thought. but it still sounds like a great idea. i am hoping to here something about some 98 and newer rangers.

zimmerman? you need to do some more thinkin on that one. that would be the last thing i would do.

autofab on the otherhand...

stroker 4.0 and a blower.....:icon_thumby:...run that into a zf and atlas.:icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

Mine would be my 84 ranger reg. cab long bed. I would strip it down to nothing (body off, frame stripped) clean it all up, black powdercoat the frame and all parts underneath on the frame. Slap a 4 linked Solid axle in back, and baja buggy style (Flexxy) IFS in front, with 5.13's, renforced for strength, manual hubs are a must, Some 35x12.50 MT (BFg Baja T/A's or Krawler T/A's) on Black Beedlocked 15x10 wheels, probably around 6"s of lift from coil springs, Drivetrain would be a nice worked 351W or a Big Block Cobra engine (in fantasy would get 20mpg's...lol) probably sitting at 600 - 700 hp and torque, full borla or flowmaster exhaust system (true duals w/ h pipe). Manual 5 speed(something to handle the power) with a T-case (atlas?)and or whatever doubler for the that extra low gearing. heavy duty driveshafts, skidplates for the entire underside with access panels.

The body would be cleaned up and repainted Either Midnight Blue Metallic and a gun metal metallic stripe, or A nice dark Somewhat pearlecent dark grey metallic, with a metallic black stripe. Glass would be tinted around 35%, Chrome grille, bumpers, and bed cage, pre runner style front bumper with a winch, same with rear including the winch, Rocker panels (light duty), Euro style lights with Bright White 8000K HID's? and Blacked Tailights, 4x Driving beam HID KC's on the front bumper, 4x HID KC Long ranges on the roof, smaller flood beams for the sides, 2x Driving lights/reverse lights in the rear, and recovery lights facing rear. Rear Radiator with dual electric fans, 50 gallon fuel cell, 3x extra tires out the back.

Interior will be stripped, dynamatted all around, Bucket Baja style racing seats w/ 5 piont harnesses, interior roll cage (foam padded), Rubber mat flooring, aluminum panels on doors and roof, Custom instrument cluster with full autometer gauges (Oil, Water temp guages, Oil, fuel pressure guages, boost gauges, 10k tach, and 200mph speedo ect.) Dash board covered with foam padding, an a 7" touch screen for tuning and tunes, 2 12" subs and 8 component 6 1/2" speakers (Kenwood or Blaupunkt?), cutom steering wheel and shifters.... Oh and the fuzzy dice.

ok, here goes. this is bacially the simplfied version of whats been burning a hole in my brain lately.

second gen super cab ranger, fullwidth dana 60 front 5.13's ox locker, sterling 10.25 rear 5.13's true detroit , 347 c.i. stroker motor, c6, atlas 20, fox 2.0 remote res air shocks in front 14" travel with a 3 link , lop the bed and make a cage bed into an exo and run fox 2.0 remote res air shocks 16" travel in the rear with a 4 link, 39.5" iroks or tsl's on h2's. dove nose the front, small stinger bumper in the front. 20 gallon fuel cell, OBA, ect...

thats just the very condensed version b/c i gotta run but you get the picture

im not trying to steal any ones one who idea but trying to get small bits and pieces to build a great all around rig. thanks for all the input and keep it coming.

I am going to say it again, if I were to build the ultimate rig, I would call Punisher.

Hmmmm,

1994 reg cab long bed ranger

Bob the bed for better departure angle.

D60/high steer/Elocker/radius arms/air shocks/5.38s

14B/Shaved/Elocker/Home built diff cover/disk brake/5.38

Hydroboost brakes

Hydroassist steering

6.9L IDI diesel/turbo/moose pump/running on WMO or WVO

ZF5 into a 203/205 doubler?

Swampers of some kind and some size on H1 Wheels to keep it a little bit narrower

Weld on beadlocks.

Alot of other stuff i would find a reason to do along the way......

To ad to my previous post I would probably consider an autofab kit or something similar, and It would be strictly RBV parts. Probably a t-case doubler. I would love to make it a super cab long bed, which was never produced. Of coarse a lot of gauges and a shagged out Cheech and Chong interior. Custom bumpers and a nice original 80's style two tone Blue and White with pin stripes.

2wd 03 ranger w/ a 460 3spd nasty nine rear end 4.11 gears and the widest sticky mickeys i could find, twin turbo/dual rail nos injected. wheelstand anyone? :icon_hornsup::icon_cheers:

I would take my 87, have the frame reinforced, drop in the 429 that I have taking up space in my carport, slide a 9" w/4.11 or 4.56 under the rear and drive it like I stole it.

88 ranger xcab 2wd shortbed. 426sohc ford engine with a big blower sitting up top with a bird catcher sticking out of the hood and a 500shot of nitrous, powerglide trans, gm 12bold rear end with .513 or higher, 18in wide 33 inch tall wrinkle wall slicks, lowered with a nice 3 link and QA1 coilovers up front. painted dark metallic blue with purple flames with red highlights. that would be a bad ass drag machine
