I've never though about it before.
I'd start with my '94 2.3/4x4/stick combo. Add a set of larger wheels and tires, put a turbo on my engine, tweak the computer, install a new exhaust and refresh the interior.
Nothing too fancy. I think my Ranger is the "Ultimate Ranger" for my needs and uses.
