the slo-vo build thread...

I was talking about up front by the coil buckets...
SVT
nah, dont wanna do all that...just gunna cut out a square section and weld a piece of 3/16 in

Slo-Vo,
You been at it harder than I have again. Damn I never catch up.
That's cool shit, SHOP DOG!!!:headbang:
I see some welding/plating going on that frame? I see some jack stands too, guess you're safer than I was today doing my shackles. I had a floor jack with some nailed together boards lifting the back end up under the 2" receiver. Was too lazy to walk my butt to the front of the truck on the shop floor, pick 'em up and carry 'em to the back.
When you get 'er up again you should come down here and use my pressure washer, that engine looks gunking, then again it'll just open any leaks if you have them.
Yeah right take it easy in the sploder, that thing flexes pretty darn good!
lol no axles so i had to have something under there

no squares! Cut a diamond shape. :icon_thumby:

i don't believe he is gonna be patching over the top of the hole...

and as close to the top of the frame i doubt he could make a diamond shape work....

like railman said a diamond wont really work in that area...will probably do a rectangle with angled ends to relieve stress cracks

exactly...im going to set it into the frame...cut out all the rust

im done for the night already...the 2 broken ex. manifold bolts are pissing me off...

plus big storm rolling through so gunna sit back and watch it

pansy......:thefinger:

here i am at work and don't have that choice....

I say you follow boggin's advice. Handyman's best friend!

Slo-Vo,
Have you thought of the "double nut method"? If you have enough leftover sticking out, take one nut thread it on, take another nut and run it up against the first, then use the rear nut to try to pull the broken leftover out. Sometimes works when welding one on won't! Might try a LITTLE heat too, but don't get that head too hot, you'll crack or warp it!
Now if you can find a freeze raygun, put it to the leftover stud, it'll shrink. Metal contracts cold and expands hot. Then try backing it out. I don't have one for you to borrow and even in RangerSVT's plethera of tools today I didn't happen to notice one, though he may have it hidden???

I do have em around, its called a can of brake cleaner, it'll make anything it contacts cold enough to shrink....

I'll remember that next time I have a stint in the P-lot w/ a girl from Mcminnville in Nashville
:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

i welded on some nuts the first time and they both broke off...so welded some new ones on tomarrow bringing my mini torch home to apply a little heat...hopefully they come out...if not grind em down and drill em out...they are top bolts so i can put a nut on the back

god damnit its about time someone listened to my advice
:icon_cheers:

haha

or just forget about it and pretend its not there..
what rusted chassis?

Have fun if ya have to drill out them nuts, better make ya some kind of jig to keep that bit from wanderin on that hardened steel. We have one we use on Harleys but don't know if it'd work for that. Might just want to go ahead and run a bead on them jokers.
Hate to say it, I told ya to leave them headers alone. and say all you and everyone wants about my escapades with headers! I never had that much trouble in them Chevrolets! Rick said ya'll was gonna convert me from a chevy man. As far as hotrods, it ain't happening! As far as trucks, I'm paying Ricks building a SAS Ranger, lead follow or get the hell outa my way. And one more mall crawler approaches me at work in the P-lot after this prject is done and ask "why ya wanna build a Ranger" I ain't replying like I did this morning with "whens the last time ya been to TB or wanna go with me". I'll just wait till his butts gone from his truck, hook a chain to him and move his truck for him!!!
A truck is a functional peice of equipment and a tool and I bet I've hauled more shit, drove more trails, pulled more people than these mall crawler pretty booys with thier full size I gotta have 18 wheeler stacks comin out the bed to the top of the cab. I mean seriously, it ain't a rig and you ain't supplying America with what we need. You;re burning fuel, wasting gas, consuming rubber and killin the environment, for what, Cover up you're insecure tiny tiny raisin manhood!
Give me a break!
Oops sorry Brother for killin your thread got me on a sopabox.
