i saw somewhere on explorer forums some body got a 90 degree drill attachment...mounted it on the shaft and then ran a tiece of steel up through the center console with a t-handle on it...was pretty cool

For a second there I kind of got excited. I thought maybe there would be truck pictures. :thefinger:

Well I'll be... you actually DO work on your truck! Haha!

If i ever got invited over there, I'd give you a hand. Bad-manners to invite myself.

hell my garage is always open to whoever wants to help...especially with all the shit going on this week trying to get ready...

greg came down to help me after the cruise in....got the 35 out along with all the brackets and coil buckets...pretty much just have to strip the explorer and bolt it all into the ranger

cant get too much work done though promised id take the woman out tonight

not sure if the ranger will make it to TB just depends on how the week goes

Slo-Vo,
I thought I'd been busy getting stuff done. I'm lagging behind. Looking good!
Tomorrow I'm installing one of those hood quick lift systems so I don't have to use that always in the way prop rod. And my rear shackles.
Rick sent me a message and We're doing ring & Pinions monday! WOOHOO! It was crawling fairly good with the 3.73s the other day, but I want to be able to walk faster than that thing'll go!:yahoo:
No luck finding a 33 TSL Radial, I'll bring a BFG for a spare and hope I don't have to use it. Still scouring here, there, craigslist, etc... for one.
:dunno:

she's coming togather slowly...i think while the coil buckets are out im goint to throw the headers on that ive had sitting around for months

Headers

I contemplated some of 'em.:icon_confused:
Though everything I ever had that had a set on it, were a royal pain in my 4th point of contact. Every dog gone time I decide to go wheelin, hotroddin, chickie hunting, dang things start leaking, then run and sound like crap. Had 'em on the '73 FJ40 with the 350 in it, only way exhaust would work, came lose. Had 'em on a '67 impala with a 427, came lose. Had 'em on a '74 corvette, came lose. HMM see a pattern here.
I tried every stinking locking gimick, super bolts, these won't come lose, these gaskets gonna keep the bolts from working out, these washers lock, blah, blah... Everything short of welding the dog gone things straight to the heads. I actually kind of screwed up a head in the FJ when the Header blew a hole and I went to weld it back up. It was right where the pipe come out of the flage that bolted to the hed, needless to say I was 17 and my welding habits was worse than now. No helmet, no goggles, doing the aim, squint, tunr the head, close the eyes and hope ya get it. Well ended up with part of the flange welded to the head. Made motor changing fun when I blew that one up. Where's that grinder???:icon_confused:
Yeah they flow awesome, they do what they're intended to, but not something I'd suggest running on a DD. too much maintenance. I'll stick with my ceramic coated, slightly ported manifolds my Brother Steve cleaned up when he built my motor. I'm getting 15-15.5 mpg running 33s and 3.73s. So can't be flowing too bad.
Good luck with 'em though, just promise me you won't infringe on the peace, quiet & tranquility of TB in a month or so on another trip with the headers poppin and cracking! Not that a bunch of hoopin and hollering overzealous tree scraping, rock crunchin, broken part cussing, over excited I made it through off roaders disturb anything!:shok:
:yahoo:
Get that thing together, you gotta be there saturday or my ass going to have to skip out on a cuple days work to come up and see ya. You said the garage was always open, I got a bedroll I take with me on my Hawg rides, so I can sleep next to your truck and keep 'er company when I come.
:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

just incase yall were wondering what ATL traffic looks like at 6:30am...

that about 5 miles packed solid bumper to bumper....what fun

why wait when you can easily get around them lol

hell my garage is always open to whoever wants to help...especially with all the shit going on this week trying to get ready...

Not my style.

I'm looking at a few B2's............ just going to find a good one for a trail rig and blow some money for the hell of it. Just gotta get that one scrapped so I have some spare change.

Yeah I do see a pattern here...They are all chevys :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: I had headers on my 5.0L in my mustang with regular bolts, didn't have any problems after tightening them one time after install...Damn chevys, they are built "like a rock", big, heavy, and a good boat anchor:D
