the slo-vo build thread...

im not sure about wednesday, its a possibility ill be working but i may be able to get off for an hour or 2

and yea i was planning on moving the shock mount on top of the arm so i could get away with shorter shocks...since im gunne be running a pretty decent sized tire with not alot of lift im not going to have much up travel so i didnt think it would hurt me at all :dunno: planning on a 35 or 36 inch tire

well, i am off Wed. thru Sun....so no need to take off, maybe swing by after ya get off work...

let me know...John

yea i get off at 3 or 3:30 monday-friday so let me know, my weeknights are always open

figured i would post some pics of the garage also....

its a 30X40, as you can see my svo is in there on jackstands and my buddies car is in there also along with all my other junk lol

Nice shop! Hey, I reconoze that mustang...is that the one that is a super roller with all the goodies? If it is the one I am thinking, it's bad ass. I have seen it on mustangforums, user name is FS308.

I will be watching your build, good luck!

thanks...lol yea thats wilkersons car, we've been working on it for a while hope to be getting some done on it before too long...once we finish his up we are doing my svo pretty similer except im doing a cage and minitubs and sticking with the 2.3 turbo

got some parts in from ruffstuff.....

the new heims...these ****ers are HUGE...wont be breaking them with my skinny pedal!
IMG_0939.jpg

also got some long leaf brackets for when i grab another 8.8 and some plates for my front bumper

well after reading about 20 threads over the last few nights i might decide to go more in depth with the 35 and do the cut beams to get a little more lift out of my rancho brackets.....just need some spare 35 beams to play with

got some more work done on the arms...was going to lengthen them by slugging the original tube and extending it but by the time i did all that it would have been easier to replace the whole tube....so i started cutting

i dint have any 2in od pipe so i used a piece of header tube just to get an idea of what was going to need to be done

this is roughly what im going to end up with, im putting the tube in at more of an agle to give me more tire clearance...im going to have to add alot of material to make it all pretty strong but it should work well

IMG_0947.jpg

IMG_0948.jpg

this is going to be pretty close to my total length, possibly an inch or two longer but pretty close....pretty long compared to the stock rancho arm

if i knew how much work to these arms i was going to do i wouldnt even had started with them and just used them for a guide but oh well too late now :D

let me know what you guys think or any ideas!

nobody have any comments or idea's? more then one set of eye's looking at something is always better

I think it looks good. If you are going to turn them in so much to clear the tire, you should add more angle upwards so you can snug them right up tight to the frame or even inside the frame rails.

sorry i couldn't swing by....got wrangled into staying in Mad-ville...

you work tomorrow?

l8r, John

thats a good idea i may have to try that...i guess i need to get the tube and get everything in place to get my final position right
