the slo-vo build thread...

you wouldn't happen to be able to send me one like it would ya?

I was with him the day he found it at the JY....I plan to go this week sometime.....will let ya know if I see any.....

l8r, John

that'd be fantastic! I have been to a bunch of JY out here, and nothing. I dunno where they all go, but they damn sure don't stay in SD.

i found one for greg last time we hit the yards in a 94 expo...ill look around

Keep me in mind if ya find another also!

Same 3 bolt pad style mount the 4.0L ranger has, the 7.3L PS has...same mount, same case, but the pulley is an 8 rib for the PS, 6 rib for the ranger...

the early non turbo PS's have a 6 rib pulley, which is what mine came off of

theres a couple scrapped 7.3 ford ambulances near my house.. i may have to speak to the owner of them someday

with all the new eltronic dodads i just(well am in the process of) adding, one is definitely needed

Boggin I'm pretty sure the ambulance package has a different alt. It's bigger but bolts down different

IDI (Indirect Injection) 7.3L engines (pre-powerstroke, pre-94.5) had V belt system (what my dually had) and also had a hinge style mount. DI (Direct Injection) 7.3L (94.5+ powerstrokes) were surpentine and pad mount...It is possible the engine you got yours from had already had the turbo, downpipe, and exhaust-to-turbo pipes removed, making it look like a non-turbo powerstroke, but all powerstroke engines came turbocharged (that's what make them a powerstroke)...My dad's is a 97 model, so it's possible they changed pulley designs. Also possible is if the truck didn't have factory AC, it might have only needed a 6 rib system...

Boggin, if you find a pad mount alt from an ambulance, it'll be a 200 amp altenator. Most ambulance packages had a dual altenator setup, a 200 amp in the factory location, and a second 155 amp altenator, totalling 355 amps output (what the current 2011 package also consists of)...If you find one of these, I want one!!

there are 3 ambulances there that are visible from the road, could be more than that in behind. so there should be plenty to go around lol. ill check it out and let you know

also its only the small type ambulance like this

i doubt one of the bigger ambulances is there

These still had the ambulance package, so as long as it had the diesel engine, it would have it. Even the gas engines still have the high output altenator packages. If you can give me a year and make (E250, E350, E450, etc.) I can tell you what the amperage was on it....I'd also be interested in getting any lights or strobe packs off of them if they have any left...If you are able to get these (the lights), PM me...
