IDI (Indirect Injection) 7.3L engines (pre-powerstroke, pre-94.5) had V belt system (what my dually had) and also had a hinge style mount. DI (Direct Injection) 7.3L (94.5+ powerstrokes) were surpentine and pad mount...It is possible the engine you got yours from had already had the turbo, downpipe, and exhaust-to-turbo pipes removed, making it look like a non-turbo powerstroke, but all powerstroke engines came turbocharged (that's what make them a powerstroke)...My dad's is a 97 model, so it's possible they changed pulley designs. Also possible is if the truck didn't have factory AC, it might have only needed a 6 rib system...
Boggin, if you find a pad mount alt from an ambulance, it'll be a 200 amp altenator. Most ambulance packages had a dual altenator setup, a 200 amp in the factory location, and a second 155 amp altenator, totalling 355 amps output (what the current 2011 package also consists of)...If you find one of these, I want one!!
