The Red Devil Ranger. Trail Rig build.

The springs are stock with the overload removed, custom hangers moved under the frame and aftermarket shackles. They are also flipped around so the long side of the spring is toward the front for less overhang in the rear.

We had a chance to give it a test run... Lasted a good 2 minutes. First time it's seen dirt! :yahoo:

Only thing I was allowed to do. No cage yet. :P

Im loving those flares. They give the trimmed fenders a clean look.
Man I love this truck more and more...

Very nice build! Keep up the good work.

Sometimes I like the idea of those flares but I just can't bring myself to do it. I have good sheet metal on the front fenders and plan to weld in new panels for the back.

Tube time

Stripped down and ready for tube. :icon_welder: (video)

Made a good start on the tree protection this weekend.

I would have reinforced the frame where you mounted that.

Some cage pics.

Well, cage is mostly finished. Just need to cut the fenders so they fit around the tube.

Is that 3/16" non gusseted plate steel that cab surround is welded to?....

1/4" and the tube lands about 3/8" away from both slider tubes. There are 2 frame tie ins right behind that, one straight and the other triangulated and both tube. This isn't as much for barrel roll protection as it is tree sliding. Tight trails around here kill the windshield pillar and cab tops.

First official trail run this last weekend. Everything went awesome, except the power steering was leaking ALL DAY LONG. Went through 6 bottles of fluid. :bawling:

The thing navigated AMAZINGLY through the trees. One of the skinniest trails in the area, 8 hours, first time driver, neither of us knowing how it would do, steering going out a few times in the middle of a turn... 2 scrapes about 3 inches long. That's it. :yahoo:

Video I got of the day:
