Somebody has been running an Instagram page for The Ranger Station for the last 7-months.

I'm looking to find out who's doing it.

Never heard of instagram, but nothing surprises me anymore, people see something good and try and get rich off of it, or steal it, or both.

I checked out the page. There isn't any personal info attached to the page or the profile. Best you can do, as far as I can tell, is just report him and fill out the form.

Someone contacted us on facebook about started a 'therangerstation' Instagram page. I looked and found one has been in existence for 7-months! It's not owned by the guy contacting us. He says it's not his.

So who started it? Has our name, but they didn't link it back to here.

The joys of impersonation. Instagram is located in California, and in California, online impersonation is a misdemeanor punishable by thousands of dollars in fines and up to a year in jail.

Instagram is dumb. Remember they own all images once uploaded.

But, yes... Impersonation is a crime and they shouldn't run one without your permission.

I didn't know that it was done without pemmission, I figured Jim did it to promote the site a little more. Kinda like the Facebook thing.

So Instagram is trying to do everything they can to keep this page up. I did get them to take down a photo of my Ranger, but they're giving me grief over the name.

And I can't figure out who this person is that started the instagram j**********y@gmail.com

So now, I need to see if there is a way that any of our members can look and get any of their photos removed from this bogus Instagram page.

I found out today that Instagram can sell it's users photos. So if you have a cool photo and it's been posted on Instagram, they can make money off of you by selling your photo to advertisers.
