So ive decided to go back to school. Ill be going for a business degree and i needed a vehicle that i could take. I have my mustang which id rather not have backed into, and a big dodge 2500 with the cummins. That truck is just wayyy to big to be getting around a campus so i ended up with this little guy. Its a 1984 bronco 2. Its got a 2.0 with a 5 speed behind it. The motor and trans came out pf an early ranger. Its got a 1bbl carb on it. The plan here is to build a little prerunner that is reliable as can be.

84 has a 2.8, 2 barrel unless someone swapped it out lol. If you want to post up pics, I've found tapatalk works fairly well.

Any questions don't be afraid to ask. Good luck with her. :icon_hornsup:

Nope shes got a 2.0 lol. Idk who but someone along the line decided to swap it out. Ill try and download tapatalk and see if i can get it figured out.

Wow, I think that's the most surface rust of seen on a Bronco II in quite a while. Is it solid?

Wellll i wouldnt call it solid lol. We are in iowa here. Its really not to bad. Im not very big on patina as i paint cars for a living but i just love how this little thing looks. Right now im doing some maintnence as im pretty sure i jumped timing in it. Im having problems figuring out where the crank pulley and distributor pulley is supposed to go. If anybody has good pictures let me know. Its different from my 97 2.3. Ive done probably 6 hours worth of googling and havent found anything good yet. Heres some more pictures.

I've never seen that motor in a BII. And I wouldn't have the slightest idea where to start. If it were me, I'd be looking for a 4.0 for her.

You can certainly tell someone chopped up the harness to get it in there. I wish you luck.

Yeah that harness looks very scary the way its just sitting there cut up but everything does work. Ill go through and pull all the wires out here pretty soon. My plan is to continue simplifying this thing as much as possible. Ive finally got some time tonight to work on it again. Im alittle worried i have a bent valve or something along those lines. But well see ig.

Well i figured out the running issue. Ended up not being the crappy old timing belt.

So now im getting ready to pull the head.
Ive been doing some research on heads and what not. Ive found that i have the O port head and that is basically one of the best flowing heads stock. Ive read that the stock intake feeding them is really holding me back power wise. What kind if opions do i have for an intake? Will the newer D port head intakes bolt up or are they different? Ive also read that there was 2 O port heads, the 2.0 which has smaller valves and the 2.3 which has slightly bigger valves. I havent really found much info on that yet so im not sure if its true or not.
Anyways, what are people running for a decent head intake and carb setup?
Also how are my pictures turning out size wise? I think the first pic or two were a bit too big??

I like the idea, and it looks to have the original front axle, does the 4wd still work?
