Congrats, that's a nice looking truck! What trans does it have? How many miles? Is it a 97 or 98?

EDIT: Here's mine. I paid 4200 for it.

Mine is a '97. It has a manual in it, but I'm not sure what trannys Ford mounted to the essex motors. Not very familiar with the F-series yet. The truck as a whole has just over 83,700 miles, the engine isn't original, but it has about 52-53k or so.

M5OD, it has the ideal shifter for a RBV swap by the way. The 4.2 has the same bolt pattern as a SBF but uses smaller bolts.

I only paid $17.9k... seven years ago (3 years old with 25k miles) Right now it has a shy 94k miles on it.

2002, 5.4, 4R70W trans, manual t-case, 97-01 4x4 OR/Lariet wheels and Jeep Rubicon 255/75-17 BFG MT's.

I can honestly say that I haven't found a truck I would trade it for. The 04+ drive very nice, but I don't care for the looks of them (except for the FX4's before the painted bumpers rot out) and I really don't know if I feel lucky enough to try a 3v 5.4.

Thats a nice looking truck. Where did you get the brushguard? Thinking about getting one for mine even though its only 2wd

$60 on craigslist :icon_twisted:

It is a Westin Sportsman. I had to strip the powdercoat off and paint it myself... it looked pretty tough when I started.

Nice find :icon_twisted:

I'm leaning more towards a chrome one myself, or at least one thats shiny.

With your chrome grille a chrome grille gaurd would probably look better.

Thats the same thing I was thinking. Planning on getting step-bars and a toolbox for it too. I've already started the small mods, the factory exhaust tip was literally falling apart, so now it has a nice shiny new one. :D

Going to start moving all my stereo components from the Ranger to the F-150 as soon as I get a chance to order new door speakers for it. I'll have this thing all fixed up in a hurry :D

Did you keep the front exit exhaust?

That is a quick/easy way to pick out a '97, that is the only year they did that. A lot of them had a TSB done that moved it behind the tire, my brother's '97 got a wheel and a set of lugnouts out of the deal too because of corrosion from the exhaust.

Yeah I kept the front exit, I had the Ranger setup like that too. All I did was take a hacksaw to the tailpipe on the F-150, cut off the factory tip, and replaced it with a 2.5" inlet/3" outlet clamp-on tip. I'm going to weld the new tip on later, the clamp is only temporary.
