As most of you remember, I have a 1992 302 ranger with all the goodies and such, but recently, I came across a picture my dad had. One of the last photos of my grandfather Milton, who was the previous owner of the ranger.

Here's what it looks like now:

And here's what it looked like back in 2002 (I believe) with my late dear ol' grandad:

This isn't a show off your truck thread, it's just to show you who and what started it all. I restored the truck in memory of him, and I did the swap because it felt right to do it. I believe that if he was my age, he would've done the same thing.

Rest in peace, grandpa.

thats awesome that you still have something that was your g-pa's. it like having a constant memory everyday you look at the truck. i wish my g-pa was still around but i will see him again. beautiful truck btw! keep on rockin!

That's pretty cool, mate. It's good you still have the truck and fixed it up. My first car was my Grandfather's caprice...I sold it to a guy who didn't maintain it and after he blew the motor up he let it sit in his apartment complex until they towed it. One of my biggest regrets ever. It's good that not everybody's quite so stupid as I.

my grandpa owned nothing but Buick's and El Camino's for my entire life, so wouldn't have done me much good.

I have a pair of shoes that he gave me because they were a little too big for him. They look really old-mannish but they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I'm having to not wear them as often because they're starting to wear out.

my dad bought by truck slightly used back in 88 or 89. Drove it for 12 years, then gave it to me when I started driving. Great truck, and I plan to keep it for as long as I can.

Thats awesome man, Nice truck. I often wish i could find the previous owner of my truck and show him what its like now. (big change) but he was an elderly gent and had cancer...I don't think he is alive anymore. Kinda sad actually

Awesome story! My father passed away when I was young. Here is a picture of his old truck that he parked in the woods before he passed. I plan on draggin it out this spring. It will be one of my upcoming projects.

Thats awesome. I love when vehicles have been in the family for years. My grandpa actually bought my Ranger new and then sold it to my dad years later and now its mine.

wow thats nice man!!
shame my grandpa died whern i was just a kid(4y old if i remember)
but my ranger thing came through my grandma lol
she had a 83 diesel ranger which i loved to drive in. shame it was in really bad shape and she sold it, she wouldnt let me repair it. she gave me the money to trade my car for my current ranger instead:D

Thats cool man. My family is so massive i never had a chance at getting something that was my grandpaws. I get the feeling I have a story like this with my dad though. he's got a 73 cuda in my garage that he has had for years. The 440 and trans are built and ready to go but the car needs some more work and I wonder if he will ever get it done.

That looks like a big undertaking but it would be a cool story for a very sweet truck.

I have my grandpa's F150. He bought it new in '85, was a special order. Ever since the first time I saw it, I knew I wanted it... he just ended up giving it to my dad who passed it on to me. It is kinda rough these days but I love it and would sell everything I own before I sold it. It's really the only vehicle I have ever become attached to.

Don't really have any pics of it before I got it.

I also got an '80 F100 handed down from him as well, but that was so beat up when my dad got done with it that I didn't feel too bad about letting it go.

My grandfather passed before I came along (well one of them did and one went shortly thereafter). On my mom's side I have nothing. On my dad's side, well, my Grandma sold most of his stuff, but kept some of his tools and his toolbox that he had custom made for his pickup. Last time I was over her place she told me to take it and scrap it all or whatever...

The toolbox rode around in the bed of my truck for a couple months an now it's sitting behind my truck, lol. Most of the tools went in my shed except for a couple that I kinda needed. If it wasn't that I was putting side boxes on my F-150 I would have mounted his box on my truck. I'm certainly not going to scrap it, lol.

Kudos on restoring the truck an making it look just like it did!
